Best Hyperliquid vaults this week

A May 21, 2026 VaultVision screen: strict filters first, then TVL, APR, drawdown, risk score, and entry quality.

TLDR: only 7 user vaults passed the conservative weekly screen. Anything with high risk, 15%+ 30-day drawdown, negative 30-day return, or an Avoid entry label was rejected before ranking.

Data in this article was rechecked against the production VaultVision API on May 21, 2026. The table is a weekly editorial screen, while the live product pages continue to update as vault TVL, risk, drawdown, and entry conditions move.

The actual screen

The filter is deliberately boring: active user vault, TVL above $500K, VaultVision risk score at or below 65, 30-day max drawdown at or below 15%, positive 30-day return, and entry label not equal to Avoid. After that, the order favors entry score, lower risk, lower drawdown, positive 30-day return, and enough TVL to inspect.

This is not a recommendation list. It is a shortlist for inspection. The next step is always opening the vault detail page and checking current positions, flows, and whether deposits are actually open.

How to read the list

Start with entry label + drawdown, then use APR as context. The cleanest this week are not automatically the biggest APR prints. For example, Edge & Hedge has the best combination in this snapshot: good entry label, moderate risk, low 30-day drawdown, and strong recent performance. BredoStrategy has huge APR and return, but it fails this screen because risk and drawdown are too high.

For HLP alternatives, filter out the protocol vault and compare user vaults by TVL, risk, and drawdown on the HLP alternatives page. For copy-style research, use manual mirror scanner; VaultVision does not promise automated copy trading from this article.

Use the scanner before the story wins

Every row above has a live detail page with current positions, risk score, flow context, and CTA tracking. The article is a map; the product is where you decide whether the map is still valid.

Rejected example: OnlyShorts

OnlyShorts is not in the best list. It failed the filter on three separate gates: risk score above 65, 30-day drawdown above 15%, and negative 30-day return.

MetricOnlyShorts valueRead
TVL$533.5KLarge enough for a real page, still smaller than the top user vaults.
APR-1.8%Headline APR is not supporting a deposit thesis right now.
30-day return-34.7%The recent equity curve is under pressure.
90-day return-29.4%Medium-term performance is still negative.
30-day max drawdown32.2%Drawdown is the main reason to slow down.
Risk score69/100 highBorderline high-risk profile.
Entry labelNeutral, 67/100Not a clear Avoid, not a clean Good Entry.
Flow-$68.8K 24h netRecent flow was negative in the checked snapshot.
Book0.38x effective leverageConservative leverage helps, but does not erase the drawdown.

The nuance: OnlyShorts showed +$202K realized PnL over 30 days in the entry-intel snapshot, but its equity return, APR, and drawdown were still weak. That means the vault may be actively trading and realizing gains while the user-facing deposit result remains unattractive. For depositors, the latter matters more.

OnlyShorts verdict: rejected for this weekly screen. Keep it as a watch-only case study until 30-day return turns positive, drawdown compresses, flow stabilizes, and the live detail page shows a clean Good Entry.

Practical checklist before depositing

  1. Open the vault page. Use the live detail page, not a static article, before acting.
  2. Check drawdown first. A high APR vault with a 20-30% recent drawdown is a different risk than a vault with a 3-5% drawdown.
  3. Watch flow. Outflows can matter more than the last APR print.
  4. Use alerts. If the setup is interesting but early, add it to a watchlist instead of forcing a deposit.
  5. Do not confuse manual mirror research with automation. VaultVision helps you inspect leader behavior; it is not promising automated copy execution here.
